Alex & Harrison - Hazel Gap Barn Wedding
I’m edging closer and closer to the end of August and the crazy summer is slowly coming to an end. After all the ridiculously sweaty weddings I’ve shot over the last three months its looking like a cooler day for Alex & Harrison’s big day at Hazel Gap Barn!
To be honest most of you would think that a sunny day would be the perfect weather but for photos a good bit of cloud cover always helps! - You get an even light across eveything instead of horrible bright patches and dark shadows!
Prep starts nice and early at Alex’s parents house in the beautiful village of Haxey, just outside of Doncaster - It’s all chilled out and made even better by Alex’s mum’s cheese on toast!!! After an hour or two of prep I’m off to the Best Western, Mount Pleasant for Harrison’s prep!!! At this point it’s absolutely tipping it down outside but we’re still three hours away from the ceremony and it looks like it’ll all be gone by the time we get to Hazel Gap!
Once the guys are done suiting up it’s back to Alex for final touch ups and getting into the dress time!!! Once Dad has seen his daughter in the dress for the first time its off to Hazel Gap to shoot the guests arriving and a few with the guys before the bridal party arrive!
Alex and the girls arrive so its off to the ceremony!
Love the natural light that fills the ceremony barn at Hazel Gap
Alex and Harrison tie the knot in front off all their guests
As soon as the ceremony finishes the heavens open and everyone rushes back inside but luckily the downpour clears up and thankfully we’re able to head outside for confetti, couple portraits and groups!
During the wedding breakfast Harrison and Alex come to find me as they’d like to do some more shots around the venue seeing as though we lost a little bit of shooting time after the ceremony. I’d never worked with smoke bombs before today so had the perfect setting to try it out and soooo glad I did - love the photos we got together!! You might even spot the groomsman roped in to helping with the smoke bombs wearing a rain coat and a pair of marigolds!!! Big shout out to him for helping out!!!
Once the speeches were done it was time to head out for a few more smoke bomb shots before the evening party started. Kicking off with some face stuffing of doughnuts followed by a gorgeous first dance! Can’t thank Alex and Harrison enough - Such beautiful people inside and out. Truly stunning day and will certainly be getting these guys to do some modelling for me in the future - Amazing couple!
