Jen & Kieran - Swancar Farm Wedding - 2017

My god - where do i start on this one? I guess lets go back 18 months to a cold winters evening in Derby. I'm ushered into a dining room where I'm introduced to 'team wedding' - aka Jen's mum and dad along with the couple themselves!

I go to many photography meetings and meet all sorts of people - but when you have an infectious love for each other along with an awesome set of parents then you know you're in for an amazing wedding day. It was one of those meetings where you could have stayed and chatted all night.

This was followed up by an awesome pre shoot with Jen & Kieran in February. When you get a couple who are just so into each other it rubs off on you and the creativity can go through the roof! Even before their Swancar Farm wedding these guys were a joy to be around.

The Swancar Farm wedding!

The 29th April has finally arrived and after seeing only a few months worth of wedding related statuses on Facebook from these guys It feels like it's come round too quickly!

Batteries charged and photography gear packed - it's time to get The McHugh wedding on

First port of call is Jen's parents in Chellaston, Derby. I'm greeted by the bride to be looking all chilled and am looked after the moment I get here. Coffee and croissants on tap and that's just to start! As the preparations flit between make up and hair I'm constantly being looked after by Alison, Jen's mum who now currently owns the rights to my favourite mother of the bride ever! I think her words were - 'If you're in my house you'll never go thirsty, hungry or cold'' - This was true as I left her house half a stone heavier. This was before I'd even started on the pack lunch bag she'd kindly prepared for me! It even had a pack of tissues in it in case I cried during the ceremony. Just so you all know - That's never happened!

Apart from a few weddings long ago no other family had looked after me so well as the Adams'. Us wedding photographer's often have to grab food on the go - mostly eaten while driving to venues!

A huge massive hug and thanks to the wonderful Alison for making me feel so at home and welcome! Check out Alison and Alan getting it on in the kitchen while they think I'm not looking

After eating a life times supply of buttered toast and floating on three cups of coffee I pop round the corner to see how the guys are getting on before they head off to Swancar Farm

I wish I hadn't

Nah - only joking - it was hilarious! Guys getting ready dont really take long so you have to make sure you're there for that short window! I was there but saw a few things I dont really want to talk about - Watching the best man put make up on the groom was a personal highlight - I'll let the photographs do the talking

After popping back to Jen's parents house for some final shots it was time to end the wedding preparations in derby and head off to the main event at Swancar Farm

Swancar farm looked stunning as ever and passing the rapeseed field on the way in filled me with creative joy ready for some photos later in the day. The weather remained perfect through out the whole day at Swancar Farm.

As Jen arrived with her bridesmaids and parents - it was time to get this amazing Swancar Farm wedding under way

The days events were brought to a close by the new Mr & Mrs McHugh as they took to the dancefloor for their first dance.

Huge congratulations to you both - Loved every minute being part of what was one of my favourite ever weddings!
