There’s nothing like a good spring wedding and today’s certainly was no exception! I’d met Lucy and Sam just over 15 months ago to dicuss their big day, then had a pre shoot in London followed final by the big day itself and my what a day it was!
Always love travelling up to Stubton as the traffic is always quiet and love hopping through all the villages to get there. As i turned into the village of Stubton I could make out that that someone had altered the name of the village to Stubley, which was Lucy’s surname. I’d call it an acceptable piece of temporary vandalism
Lucy and Sam had hired me to stay late into the night and when people do this I know they’re expecting some dancefloor carnage but we’ll find out more about that later! Prep was well under way as I arrived at Stubton Hall. The bridal suite as thronged with bridal squad action, not to mention the smell of Lavender everywhere (Lucy has a thing for Lavender)
The prep flew by and once Lucy had shown the dress to everyone it was off down the insanely beautiful staircase at Stubton for the ceremony. By far one of my favourite ceremony rooms ever. The light is just perfect in there. Sam awaited his stunning bride as Lucy and her bridesmaids made their entrance alongside a very cute flowergirl.
Mr & Mrs Jones take their first steps as husband and wife to bring one stunningly gorgeous ceremony to a close. Its time for some mingling and drinking before the couple shoot and group shots.
Once all the couple shots and group photos are done its time to head in for some booze and food followed by the speeches. I have to say all three speeches were amazing and had the room in stitches at times.
The evening celebrations get under way with the first dance and some final couple shots outside as the sun set. I’m a big fan of getting the dancefloor and capturing some drunken action but Lucy and Sam’s guests delivered the best dancefloor action I’ve seen for some time. Lots of drunken shapes were thrown, drinks were sploshed all over the floor, out of tune singing was heard, the bride and groom were lifted in the air and most of all everyone had an amazing time. One hell of a stunning wedding!
